Orientation Checklist

  • Report to the front table as you enter the arena to receive your student’s NAME TAG and class assignment, ensure that their name tag is visible and worn each week. (each class is assigned a colour and the name tags ensure that your student makes their way to the appropriate class)
  • Please use the assigned dressing rooms to put skates on, LSP will not be held responsible for items left in the dressing room
  • Students will enter the ice at the designated door, where they will be greeted by several coaches and assistants that will guide them to their appropriate class.
  • ABSOLUTELY, NO SHOES will be permitted on the ice. Let those with blades on help you get students to their class.
  • Students will be assigned a class based on their registration, however, ability and skill level is evaluated the first 2 weeks to ensure that every student is in a class where their skills will develop in a challenging and fun environment. Students will be moved to the appropriate class as required and determined by instructors.
  • We ask that parents/guardians enjoy the class from the designated viewing area. Although, we appreciate your efforts to encourage and cheer, it may be a distraction to other students which can result in a safety hazard.
  • If a student has to go to the washroom or requires their parent/guardian, they will be directed to wait at the door to the ice surface until their parent/guardian comes to meet them.

Each week this process will get quicker as the students learn where their class is located and coaches are able to determine the appropriate class for skaters. We appreciate your patience. Our goal is to place every student where they will have a positive and fun learning experience. We look forward to a fun and rewarding new season!
